One of the great benefits to owning your own business, is you get to choose with whom you want to work with. This is why I am extremely proud of the fact that I applied to the Safe Space Alliance and was successful in being added to their register as being a 'safe space' for people who consider themselves part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

What does it mean to be a safe space?

It’s about more than just flying a rainbow flag, changing your company logo or acknowledging pride at the appropriate time of year. It’s about making the environments you create and operate in, whether they are physical or digital a space that people don’t have to question if they belong.

For practitioners like myself who work closely with individuals exploring personal growth, neurodiversity, emotional resilience, or creative expression, declaring membership in the Safe Space Alliance is an act of alignment. It helps me show clients or potential clients: This is a space where your full identity is honored, and where you can show up as you truly are—without judgment, pressure, or fear.

Why showing people that your a safe space matters more than ever

In a world that often moves too fast and listens too little, creating spaces where people feel seen, respected, and safe isn’t just a nice idea—it’s a powerful commitment. I want to make sure that the people I collborate with, as well as client know: You are safe. You are welcome. You are valued.

Why now? Because safety fuels growth.

My business has been going for six months, honestly when I started I did not realise this was an option, I just wanted to do everything I could to be welcoming and inviting to all. As a coach, I do know that when people feel safe, they begin to trust. And when they trust, they open up—to learning, to transformation, to connection.

I hope by talking about this, there may be other businesses who want to do the same. Sometimes having a ripple effect can be rewarding, no matter how small.  There is also an element of satisfaction knowing you are part of a global network dedicated to visibly supporting the LGBTQIA+ community—and anyone who seeks acceptance and belonging.

I do not just want to say I support being inclusive, I want to aim for this in everything I do.
